Thank you for your interest in our photography and for reading our privacy policy. 

This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to personal data that we collect from you as a customer (“you” or “your”) and/or as a visitor to our website. It provides information on what data we collect, why we collect the data, how it is used, the lawful basis on which your personal data is processed, and what your rights are under the applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). We do not disclose data to any third parties unless it is necessary for the fulfilment of the service required. Instances in which we do disclose data to third parties are outlined below.


SITE ACTIVITY DATA

J. Stock Photography considers Internet user privacy and data protection to be of paramount importance. Our website complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 in relation to all processing of personal data supplied to us by users and other personal data in our possession for any reason. It is our policy to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of any personal information, such as name, address, email address, or telephone number that you provide to us. By using this site, you consent to the terms of this website privacy policy. We do not collect, use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than those identified below, except with your consent or as required by law. Each time you visit our website www.jstockphotography.co.uk the web server collects and logs certain information. We keep these access logs for a reasonable period of time. These logs include, but are not restricted to: your computer’s IP address, your username (if applicable), date, time and files accessed. These logs also contain information about referrer information if you clicked on an external link in order to access a webpage. We use these logs solely for performance, site administration and security reviews. We do not sell or share this information with any third party.


PERSONAL INFORMATION

We collect only personal information about you, such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number that you voluntarily provide to us. For example, we may receive personal information about you when you send us an email through our website or sign up for our newsletter (where applicable). We may forward the personal information you provide to us to the person or department (internally) equipped to handle your request or respond to your inquiry. We do not share or sell any personal information we receive through our website to any third party, nor will we add such information to any bulk email list we may prepare. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We may provide you with information about goods or services, events and other promotions we feel may interest you. We will contact you by email only with your consent, if this was given at the time you provided us with the personal data.
We may use your personal data for other purposes which you have consented to at the time of providing your data.

As used in this Privacy Policy, “legitimate interests” means our interests in conducting and managing our business. When we process your personal data for our legitimate interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you, and your rights under data protection laws. DATA RETENTION

We will keep your personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or for the duration required by any legal, regulatory, accounting or reporting requirements, whichever is the longer. In particular, we retain your personal data for 7 years after your photography session and we retain digital files of your photographs for 7 years (subject to any unexpected loss of data). When you consent to receive marketing communications, we will keep your data until you unsubscribe. Upon expiry of the applicable retention period we will securely destroy your personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.


CONTROL OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

When you fill a form or provide your details on our website, you will see one or more tick boxes allowing you to opt-in to receive marketing communications from us by email, telephone, text message or post. USE OF COOKIES

We use cookies on this website for a number of reasons, including but not limited to tracking the number of people who read each article (via Google and SmugMug Analytics), and serving advertisements. Our use of Google Analytics includes the service’s Advertising Features in order to customise the advertising that you see on the site. If you do not wish to have cookies stored in your browser, you may instruct your web browser to reject them. We do not share or sell information we may learn about you through our use of cookies to any third party or for any purpose. If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited.


WEBSITE VISITOR TRACKING

This website uses tracking software to monitor its visitors to better understand how they use it. The software will save a cookie to your computer’s hard drive in order to track and monitor your engagement and usage of the website, but will not store, save or collect personal information.


DOWNLOADS & MEDIA FILES

Any downloadable documents, files or media made available on this website are provided to users at their own risk. While all precautions have been undertaken to ensure only genuine downloads are available users are advised to verify their authenticity using third party anti-virus software or similar applications.

CONTACT AND COMMUNICATION

When using our contact forms we collect the following information which is directly provided by the user, their name, email address,contact number and message itself. The information provided is only used to reply or for direct contact with the user. This information is never shared or sold with any third-party services.

Users contacting us through this website do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use. If you have given your express permission, and where we have clearly stated and made you aware of the fact, we may use your details to send you products/services information directly or through a mailing list system. This is done in accordance with the regulations named in ‘The policy’ above.


EMAIL MAILING LIST & MARKETING MESSAGES

We operate subscription based email mailing list program, used to inform subscribers about products, services and/or news we supply/publish. Users can subscribe through an online automated process where they have given their explicit permission. Subscribers can unsubscribe at any time through an automated online service, or if not available, other means as detailed in the footer of sent marketing messages. The type and content of marketing messages subscribers receive, and if it may contain third party content, is clearly outlined at the point of subscription. Email marketing messages may contain tracking beacons/tracked clickable links or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Where used, such marketing messages may record a range of subscriber data relating to engagement, geographic, demographics and already stored subscriber data.

EXTERNAL WEBSITE LINKS & THIRD PARTIES

Although we only look to include quality, safe and relevant external links, users are advised to adopt a policy of caution before clicking any external web links mentioned throughout this website. We cannot guarantee or verify the contents of any externally linked website despite our best efforts. Users should therefore note they click on external links at their own risk and we cannot be held liable for any damages or implications caused by visiting any external links mentioned.

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. Youtube videos etc). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
